The Problem
This driveway had previously been repaired by another company after a sinkhole created a void beneath the concrete. The previous repair addressed the void, but left one section significantly over-lifted, creating a pronounced lip in front of the garage.
The adjacent slab could not simply be lifted to match it. Raising that slab enough to eliminate the lip would have created an improper slope toward the garage and could have directed rainwater toward the house.
The problem was not simply that one slab was too low. The driveway needed to be evaluated as a whole to determine what could be corrected without creating a new problem.
The Work
We lifted and aligned other sections of the driveway where the concrete had settled and could be safely corrected.
At the garage, we took a different approach. Rather than creating an improper slope toward the house, we beveled the existing lip to create a safer transition between the slabs.
We also sealed the cracks, pressure washed the driveway, and finished the edges to give the entire driveway a cleaner, more complete appearance.
One of the memorable parts of this job was the steady stream of hummingbirds visiting the property while we worked.
The Result
The driveway now has cleaner transitions between slabs and a much safer approach to the garage.
The finished driveway looks substantially better while preserving the existing concrete rather than replacing it.
The result was not simply a lifted driveway. It was a driveway that had been evaluated, corrected where appropriate, and finished with the surrounding conditions in mind.
